Specific Functions of Epoxy Cloud IronIntermediate Paint in the Anti-Corrosion System:
Extending Service Life: Epoxy cloud iron intermediate paint not only provides an excellent adhesion base for the topcoat but also effectively protects the substrate and primer from corrosion, thereby extending the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The paint has strong barrier properties, making it difficult for corrosive agents to penetrate, thus providing excellent anti-corrosion and anti-rust protection to the substrate.
The dense film of the epoxy cloud iron intermediate paint has high coverage, which prevents the occurrence of pinholes and enhances the smoothness and flatness of the topcoat.
Reducing Coating Costs: For the same film thickness, the cost of using a system of primer + intermediate paint + topcoat is much lower than using just a primer + topcoat.
Based on the analysis of the characteristics and functions of epoxy cloud iron intermediate paint, we recognize its importance and recommend its use in the following two anti-corrosion schemes:

Epoxy CloudIron Intermediate Paint
Composition: This product is made from epoxy resin, micaceous iron oxide red, other anti-rust pigments, fillers, additives, solvents, and amine curing agents.
It is used as an anti-rust primer for areas above the waterline on ships, superstructures, and various compartments. It is also suitable for offshore facilities, corresponding areas, and onshore steel structures, equipment, bridges, and vehicles as an anti-rust primer.
It offers excellent adhesion, anti-rust performance, water resistance, salt spray resistance, and good resistance to chemical agents.
Four, Instructions for Use:
Component Mixing: The A and B components must be mixed strictly according to the specified ratio. Add an appropriate amount of thinner to achieve the desired application viscosity [recommended viscosity is 20-28 seconds (at 25°C)]. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is uniform, then filter through a 60-80 mesh screen. Allow the mixture to sit for 10-15 minutes before application.
Usage Time: After mixing the two components, they should be used within the specified time frame (4 hours at 30°C, 6 hours at 20°C).
Application on Special Areas: For corners, weld seams, cut edges, and other areas that are difficult to spray or may not receive adequate coating, apply 1-2 layers of this paint with a brush before proceeding with large-area spraying. This ensures the required thickness of the paint film on all surfaces.
Ensure that the paint film thickness meets the anti-corrosion requirements. If the desired thickness is not achieved, apply three or four coats. Sufficient paint film thickness is essential for rust and corrosion protection of steel structures.
